Meet the Adventurers

Katy taking a break from taking photos.

Katy is the main author of this site. She spends her days at home, leading her boys in school. Katy was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2002-2003. This is only mentioned so readers understand if she discusses daily pain or any of the other symptoms common to FM. She enjoys travel, nature, photography and cooking. Her hopes are high that writing on this site will help her flex the old writing muscles so that one day, when she has time again (ha!), she can finally finish one of those novels percolating in her head. She asks for your patience as she gets back into the groove of expressing herself in written word.

Bobby works in international sales and management for Neogen Corporation. He has spent the past 3 years living and working in Kochi, India but is now carrying his family to Brisbane, Australia for the next 2 to 4 years. Most of his time is spent in building business, solving problems, and helping to protect the world’s food supply. His busy schedule still take him on many trips across Australia and New Zealand, but they will usually only last a couple of days. Bobby uses any time he has leftover trying to keep up with two rampaging boys and one tired wife.

Gabe!

Gabe is our long-legged 13-year-old who loves to run and draw. He started home school in the middle of 3rd grade and is doing quite well with it. He really enjoys having a say in what he is learning. Gabe has also been taking on more responsibilities such as doing his own laundry and cooking for the whole family. He loves to build things out of Legos and keeps begging us to buy him tools of his own so he can try building in other mediums.

Max

Max is our very energetic 9-year-old. He’s the first one awake everyday and just bristles with energy. Sometimes it takes the rest of us a little while to catch up with him. Max possesses a quick mind that likes to be kept busy. He also home schools. After talking with him, people often forget just how young he is. He prefers to always being interacting with others especially if the activity is physical. Max’s unique personality brings laughs from all who encounter him.

IMAG0765

Squad is our little black cat. He is a wonderful cat, full of quirky personality. Contrary to his species, Squad is actually afraid of very little and LOVES to have visitors to the house. He will jump on your lap and place his little nose on you until he gets a good, thorough sniff in. He is very patient especially with young ones. He will allow Max to inflict all sorts of abominations on him before he gets up and moves away. Needless to say, we are very grateful for the companionship he gives to our little men and feel that he does more than his duty in this house.
